Shavini Fernando is the Founder and CEO of OxiWear, a health tech company transforming patient safety through continuous oxygen measurements. After being diagnosed with severe pulmonary hypertension and surviving silent hypoxia and multiple cardiac arrests, Shavini turned her personal battle into a mission to protect others from undetected oxygen drops. Under her leadership, OxiWear secured FDA clearance for its innovative wearable device, designed to reduce hospital readmissions and empower patients to live independently. A former video game and VR developer, she holds degrees from Georgetown, Edith Cowan, and Portsmouth Universities. Shavini’s work has earned the Washington Business Journal’s 40 Under 40 and Women Who Mean Business honors, Georgetown University’s Exceptional Master’s Student Award, and the American Heart Association’s 2025 Impact with Heart Award, She is passionate about advancing patient-led innovation and creating meaningful social impact worldwide.
