Alexis is a Co-Founder and Executive Director of Hellas Direct, a digital-first, full-stack insurance company, empowered by cutting-edge technology and artificial intelligence. Founded in 2011, Hellas Direct aims to redefine the insurance sector by adopting an extreme focus on operational excellence. The company is backed by a roster of all-star investors, including Portage, ETF Partners, the International Finance Corporation (World Bank), the European Bank of Reconstruction and Development, and the European Investment Bank. Hellas Direct has received multiple awards and has been ranked in the Financial Times’ list of fastest-growing companies in Europe for three consecutive years.

Prior to Hellas Direct, Alexis was an Executive Director at Goldman Sachs, leading principal investing and new strategic initiatives in the investment management field. A former strategy consultant with the Boston Consulting Group, Alexis also worked for Miramax Films in New York and the European Commission in Brussels. Alexis began his career as an analyst at Credit Suisse First Boston, focusing on Mergers and Acquisitions and Equity Capital Markets.

Alexis graduated with a BA(Hons)/MA in Economics from the University of Cambridge and holds an MBA from the Wharton School, University of Pennsylvania. He is a Fulbright and British Chevening Scholar, a Robert & Diane Levy Fellow, and an Endeavor Global Entrepreneur.

Alexis has served as Second Lieutenant in the Cyprus Special Forces, graduating first in the Military Academy of Officers and second in the Academy of Unorthodox Fighting Techniques in Greece.

Together with his co-founder Emilios, Alexis received the EY Entrepreneur of the Year Award in Cyprus. He has also recently joined the Board of Endeavor in Greece.
