John Tsioris grew up in Athens. and pursued his higher education at the Technical University of Crete's School of Production Engineering and Management. After graduating, he moved to Rotterdam, Netherlands, where he studied Business Administration at Erasmus University. He started his career with an internship at the multinational Royal Philips Electronics, where he quickly advanced to the position of Global Competitive Intelligence Manager at the company's headquarters. Following an internal transfer, he moved to Dubai and continued working for the same multinational for another year.
It was in Dubai that John founded InstaShop in 2015. Within just five years, the company was acquired for a record amount of 360 million dollars by Delivery Hero, a German company listed on the Frankfurt Stock Exchange, part of the DACH index and a giant in the online delivery sector. To this day, InstaShop remains the largest acquisition of a Greek technology startup. This particular exit was the 5th largest tech startup acquisition of all time in the Middle East and North Africa in 2020 and remains in the top 10 largest startup exit in the same region to date.
John and his team accomplished all this with a relatively small investment of 6.5 million dollars, providing an average return to their shareholders of 55 times the invested capital. John held the reins of Instashop until November 2023, when the InstaShop cycle was completed.
To date, he has supported hundreds of startuppers with guidance and has invested in over 30 startups in Greece and around the world. However, his passion for entrepreneurship continues. As a result, he recently founded Revotech, an extremely ambitious technology company, focusing on health-related technologies involving artificial intelligence and digital markets.
